Through the miracles of modern technology we can daily report on how we're doing, what we ate for breakfast and the latest pictures of Votcha the dog. This is a participatory adventure. Stormy weather

+We are privileged to be the first commentators on this blog. Although it was raining when the Metz Lermans visited Rockaway after Thanksgiving, Rob and Nathan had to go to the beach anyway. Nathan was disappointed that his parents had not thought to pack a bathing suit for him no matter what the date!
We are waiting for our ride to the airport back to New York from Detroit, where we attended a memorial for Mary Ray. It was a very sad time, of course, but it was a lovely memorial attended by relatives from across the country, and friends and coworkers of Sid and all the kids. One of the biggest groups were "colleagues" of Mary's from the Gray Panthers, which Mary had been very active in for many years. The director of the Oak Park library spoke highly of Mary and read a message from the Oak Park Mayor. The memorial included a rendition of Precious Friend sung by Holly Near. It was very appropriate. Mom and I spent the rest of the day at Sid's house with relatives, reminiscing and looking at pictures organized by decades.
Feb 6 Sat Aron made a short visit and told of his attending the Good Jobs, Green Jobs National Conference held in Washington. With his help i was able to get on the right page to be able to post. We are nearing the end of West Wing as we are viewing N0 40 CD out of 45 and we are very sad. The last 10 CD have no sub titles and with our poor hearing it makes difficult to follow their fast dialog.. I have not been on a bike for a couple months-too cold. Rockaway Lermans
